Through a multidisciplinary approach utilizing photography, music, and video, Nathan Fiske examines the interplay of nature, technology, and the senses. These images begin with flowers and a scanner. Fiske meticulously captures the intricate details and fleeting beauty of the plants through his scans, placing the organic and the mechanical in dialogue with one another.

Accompanying the visuals is an original soundtrack composed by Fiske. The audio is designed to immerse the viewer in a sonic landscape that echoes the rhythm and cadence of natural life. Acting as a bridge between the visual and auditory realms, the soundtrack invites a multi-sensory experience that deepens one’s engagement in Fiske’s work.

Fiske’s project culminates in a video installation that animates his scanning process, bringing the static images to life and underscoring the tension between stillness and movement. Fiske’s artistic interest lies in transient moments like these, particularly those that typically go unnoticed in our daily lives. Viewers are invited to pause, watch the video through, and consider the delicate balance between the natural and the artificial.
